The clinic treats disorders related to mobility, sensation and coordination that affect everyday functioning, routine behavior and quality of life.
The clinic treats patients suffering from:
- Orthopedic injuries, nerve damage and burn victims.
- Diseases affecting the hand, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger.
- Sensitivity caused by chronic diseases such as arthritis, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis.
Therapeutic intervention is based on the findings from the various evaluations:
Motor, sensory and functional evaluations according to medical protocol, while maintaining contact with the referring physician.
Treatment is individual, and includes exercises, splinting, and customized supports and aids to improve functioning. In addition, guidance regarding continued exercise and self-care.
The service is included in the health basket and may be obtained with a referral from an attending physician (and Form 17) or privately.
